Ace Glass. Specially engineered to fit standard taper joints and tubes. Manufactured under white room conditions for extreme cleanliness. Made of a more dense rubber, low extractables and a better fit (50% to 80% on joints) these septa are much less likely to fail in the presence of solvents. Compare this item.
Septa. Septa are available in a variety of materials and thicknesses. PTFE Natural Rubber are moderately priced seals for GC and HPLC with good chemical properties. They are ideal for multiple injections due to high resealability, but not as easy to penetrate as PTFE/RR. PTFE/High Performance Rubber is a highly pure synthetic red rubber septum
The silicone elastomer layer is dense but still easily pierced by most headspace sampling needles. Black rubber septa Black Rubber septa are molded from a higher density rubber compound compared to the standard red rubber. This septum has characteristics similar to the gray butyl stopper. The Black rubber septum is an economical choice for

Jul 1, 2016 · Septa for Inlets. Arguably the most stressed-out parts of a GC system, inlet septa are tasked with maintaining a leak-tight seal between the atmosphere and carrier gas while not introducing significant contaminants into the carrier-gas stream-all of this while heated to upwards of 250 °C and being repeatedly punctured by sharp needles.
The septum is suitable for use with all GL 45 sizes of the DURAN® GL 45 bottles from 100 to 20,000 ml. A liquid tight seal is provided when used in combination with the red PBT GL 45 open topped screw cap. Wide temperature usage range from – 50 °C up to + 180 °C. Autoclavable at 121 °C for 15 minutes. Dry heat sterilizable at up to 180 °C.
Natural rubber septa are offered assembled into aluminum crimp seals. PTFE/Synthetic Red Rubber Septa: (PTFE/RR) PTFE/ Synthetic Red Rubber septa are an economical choice for general GC and HPLC applications.
Long injection life, pre-pierced for minimal coring. Maximum temperature 400°C. Long injection life septum typically achieves 400 injections without failure, when used with a rounded-tip (Aijiren-style) needle and autosampler or needle guide. Ideal for standard manual-injection GC and GC/MS. 3 mm. Compare this item.
Rubber septa. Used primarily for routine analysis in gas chromatography. Offers moderate ability to reseal and good chemical inertness. Not recommended for multiple injections or holding samples for further analysis. PTFE is protective layer that once broken exposes rubber to chemical attack. Types of rubber septa.
After piercing with a non-coring needle, rubber closes the puncture, protecting the contents of vessel or container from atmosphere. We also provide Suba-seal silicone rubber septa for high heat applications (up to 200 °C continuous) with improved chemical resistance compared to natural rubber and autoclavable for sterile uses.
PTFE/Silicone/PTFE septum is recommended for the most critical applications such as ultra trace analysis or where there is a longer time between injections or for internal standard methods. PTFE/Silicone/PTFE septa provide superior performance with Aijiren 1050, 1090, , or
Seal 2000 is a high purity, PTFE/Synthetic Red Rubber septum that provides a reduced background level for specific GC applications employing sensitive detectors such as ECD or NPD. Seal 2000 has resealing characteristics similar to PTFE/Red Rubber. Seal 2000 is offered pre-inserted into an aluminum seal only. PTFE/Silicone Septa: (T/S)
Bottle Septa. Septa for bottles provide an airtight seal for bottles that prevents environmental contaminants but allows for the removal of the bottle’s contents by piercing with sharp needles. Septa bottle caps are generally available for open-top and screw caps and allow for aseptic syringe dispensing, as well as the addition of materials.
